SRD's History
| The SRD Rock Radio Show came home to Market Harborough from February 2007 before taking a break to pursue further interests from June 2008. Ian Fraser originally started doing a radio show for his mate Mark Shannon who ran a community radio station (WOQ - 99.1 FM) in Omaha Nebraska USA. The summer of 2006 saw Tom Lathom and Ian join up for the Radio Lutterworth RSL (www.radiolutterworth.com) going out twice weekly during the 28 day broadcast. In 2007, HFM was looking for volunteers and the Thursday evening slot was always destined for their unique brand of Rock 'n' Rebellion. When ultimately it became too much for the station to cope with, the boys decided to return to their roots in the community following a proposition that might better suit their aspirations. Promotion and support of live "OB's" for bands and events in the community (for the community by the community) remains the idealistic goal together with seeking to have decent honest and honourable dealings with all volunteers and particpants in future ventures. |
